Before the technology revolution took off 7 years ago, reading an actual book from a library or a bookstore was the norm. And being an avid reader/bookworm, there was nothing I liked more than escaping to my reading sanctuary.
When I first starting using iBooks, I was in awe of the pretty mahogany bookshelf (not like the current dull grey shelf with the new update!) and how life-like it imitated the book. Turning the page on my iPod touch- didn’t seem that far off from the real thing. That and the prices of eBooks (they’re cheaper than the hard copies) and shelf saving space was super enticing!
So despite my initial hesitation to using eBooks, I’m now majorly hooked. Maybe it’s something to do with the fact that it’s portable. Or maybe it’s cause I have multiple books at my fingertips. Or maybe it’s cause I can listen to music while reading! Whatever the reason, I find that I tend to read books faster on my iPod as opposed to my actual bookshelf (maybe it’s cause I actually own the book and keep thinking, eh I can always read it another day 😉
Moody Collective publishing is one of my favourite Christian publishing companies 😉 Not only cause…
How cool is that?!
What I also love about their website is the comprehensive book excerpts that you can read before buying the book 😉
At the moment in my early Christmas pressie pending bookshelf, there’s:
#1. Vision map: a perfect read for 20something world changers, dreamers, doers and planners 🙃
#2. The well-balanced world changer: cause it can get exhausting when our epic plans don’t seem to be going anywhere and we end up berating ourselves. This book is how to survive our journey and to be kind to ourselves.
#3. Next up! Now that I’ve been bumped up to a leadership position in my Gospel Community (bible group), the timing of the 8 essentials of being an awesome leader couldn’t be more perfect.
#4. Go tell it! The book on how to evangelise 😉
#5. The social church. We spend so much time on social media/wi-fi these days, so we might as well make it worthwhile 😉
#6. The Leap. Being brave and bold to venture into the unknown career journey 😉
Book reviews a-coming! Happy readings =)
