Week 2: First Light Gratitude

Welcome to April 2020 JJ readers! πŸ˜‰ So much has been happening over the past couple of months (even before the COVID-19 pandemic), with work, settling into a new church and Bible group and just basically figuring out what life will be like for 2020. And of course when that finally got sorted, the pandemic came among us. Being in lockdown isn’t all too bad though, it’s given me the gift of time to ponder on blogging projects that have been sitting in Trello for just a tad bit long πŸ˜‰

Day 1: First Light Gratitude challenge

Gratitude day 1
Hello lovely JJ readers!

I know it’s been a long time coming since I’ve posted this year – and it’s so good to be back! Let’s just say it’s been a season of transition. And now that things finally seemed more settled into a norm – I can finally get back to things that really matter. Writing πŸ˜‰

To kick off my return to JJ – I thought it would be nice if I started with Lucy Celebrates: First Light Gratitude study reflections. I first came across Lucy through the world of Instagram and am so inspired by her encouraging and inspiring spirit. Definitely check out her website & IG!

The 60/40 World Changer Challenge =)

Just another regular Sunday relaxing in my room scrolling through my Instagram as usual, when this interesting promo propped up. And it immediately caught my eye. What was the 60/40 challenge? Jumping over to their Instagram profile, I instantly clicked on the link in their bio to pique my curiosity.

Letting go… =)

When my church co-leader asked me if I had a spare notebook lying around for our GC prayer book keepsake (πŸ˜€ – it's going to be so cool at the end of 2019 when we review and look back on them!), this one immediately to mind πŸ˜‰ Sure I admittedly have enough notebooks/stationery to run my own Typo store πŸ˜‚ but this one has a story. I won't go into the full details, but this pretty notebook had a bit of tainted history from the less than ideal workplace experience I had. And it's 2019 now and I'm like – it's time to let go of as Cisco from @cwtheflash "some bad juju" 😎. The moment I started ripping out every page from the notebook that I used to take worknotes, I could feel the release of tension/baggage that I've been carrying around with me unknowingly.* By the end, like @taylorswift would say – I think I'm finally clean 😊🎈🌈. Time to write a new story in this Travelesque notebook by @typoshop with better memories, stories, friendship, ❀ and family. And who better to help me write it then my church family? πŸ˜‡πŸ™ƒπŸ˜ŠπŸ˜‰ *I know it sounds crazy but it literally feels like – I didn't like the story especially how it ended. So I've changed the ending 😎

Feeling anxious?

Yesterday I was chatting to one of my good friends that I met late last year in my short stint in the Animation course and was blown away by her maturity and wisdom at such a young age! Gabby’s only 18, is already amazingly talented in her drawings, inspirational stories and messages across her social media and is always so smiley! Not to mention incredibly insightful in our Christian growth =) *Yup, the post above is all hers!

GIVE THANKS WITH A GRATEFUL HEART!

Brings back memories of my first few songs I sang at church ;)! A blissful reminder about giving thanks and being grateful for the simple things of life. ❀

The Godly Chic Diaries

β€œLet all that I am praise the LORD; may I never forget the good things he does for me.” (Psalm 103:2)

Anddd just like that, another exam is now behind me. Thank you Lord. The feeling of finishing a difficult exam and passing is incredibly gratifying especially when you’re running on very little sleep. These are moments of rewards that make the long days ahead worth it….

I have learned in every circumstance that comes my way, to give thanks. In ordinary life we hardly realize that we receive a great deal more than we give.We also need to remember from where God has brought us. When times get tough and you think you have nothing left to give, think about the goodness of God and all that He has done for you. Sometimes we need to rehearse our faith to get through times of doubt. We all doubt ourselves…

101 Questions… Book Launch Challenge #3

View this post on Instagram

Challenge #3 =) Oooh love this one! Brings back memories of high school and my early 20’s, the years of self discovery and finding self confidence πŸ˜‰ And coming out of the 5 years of learning and growing, the nuggets (yes nuggets cause I’m feeling peckish right now) of wisdom I learnt are: The moment you stop worrying what other people think about you and let go of your inhibitions… You realise: πŸ˜‰ That everyone else is figuring life as well. πŸ˜‰ That people’s naysayers opinion of you really shouldn’t matter. In fact that became my sign that I was on the right track when people were telling me that I was crazy and reckless for even considering it πŸ˜‰ πŸ˜‰ That no one can make you feel inferior or judged without your consent =) damn straight! And what that looks like? πŸ˜‰ You take more chances fearlessly and leap with faith into the unknown. πŸ˜‰ If the thought, I don’t think I can comes up, it means I definitely should do it πŸ˜‰ πŸ˜‰ Comfort zone living no longer seems enticing, life of edge looks way more fun πŸ˜‰ cause God is more concerned about our character growth than our comfort πŸ˜‰ πŸ˜‰ You learn to love yourself not only for your strengths but your flaws and somehow make them into your greatest strengths. The end of my 5 years of self discovery has led me to become the every brave, witty, relentless, perseverant, courageous, funny, fearless, confident and kind person that I always wanted to be πŸ˜‰ with God’s grace & love. πŸ™ƒπŸŒˆπŸ˜‰πŸ˜Žβ€οΈ Trust me, if you nail self confidence and vanquish self doubt early on – you’ve already accomplished what people spend most of their lives trying to πŸ˜‰ Go forth and be awesome! πŸ™ƒ P.S: My go to self confidence & love songs are Who Says by Selena Gomez & I’m Me by Us the Duo πŸ™ƒπŸ˜‰ Perfect songs to start any day =)
