The 60/40 World Changer Challenge =)

Just another regular Sunday relaxing in my room scrolling through my Instagram as usual, when this interesting promo propped up. And it immediately caught my eye. What was the 60/40 challenge? Jumping over to their Instagram profile, I instantly clicked on the link in their bio to pique my curiosity.

Letting go… =)

When my church co-leader asked me if I had a spare notebook lying around for our GC prayer book keepsake (๐Ÿ˜€ – it's going to be so cool at the end of 2019 when we review and look back on them!), this one immediately to mind ๐Ÿ˜‰ Sure I admittedly have enough notebooks/stationery to run my own Typo store ๐Ÿ˜‚ but this one has a story. I won't go into the full details, but this pretty notebook had a bit of tainted history from the less than ideal workplace experience I had. And it's 2019 now and I'm like – it's time to let go of as Cisco from @cwtheflash "some bad juju" ๐Ÿ˜Ž. The moment I started ripping out every page from the notebook that I used to take worknotes, I could feel the release of tension/baggage that I've been carrying around with me unknowingly.* By the end, like @taylorswift would say – I think I'm finally clean ๐Ÿ˜Š๐ŸŽˆ๐ŸŒˆ. Time to write a new story in this Travelesque notebook by @typoshop with better memories, stories, friendship, โค and family. And who better to help me write it then my church family? ๐Ÿ˜‡๐Ÿ™ƒ๐Ÿ˜Š๐Ÿ˜‰ *I know it sounds crazy but it literally feels like – I didn't like the story especially how it ended. So I've changed the ending ๐Ÿ˜Ž

101 Questions… Book Launch Challenge #2

View this post on Instagram

Challenge #2! And itโ€™s an epic one ^^ Reading this reminded me of Secret #26 in @paulangone 101 Secrets for your Twenties, โ€˜Our imperfections, doubts and questions about faith donโ€™t make us unfaithful freaks- they make us human.โ€™ Stand out quote from the secret? โ€˜Why waste time with church if we all share a collective perfection?โ€™ In true Paul Angone style, he also added the fact that it honestly felt like a problem-free parallel universe where everyone was so hyped up… [on coffee, donuts, light shows and Jesus] where there wasnโ€™t a cloud, drop of rain or speck of pollution in the sky!โ€™ Haha. In all seriousness though, he has a point. If church canโ€™t be a place where we donโ€™t have to act like we have it all together, where else can we go? After all, we all have issues, problems and questions- so maybe instead of hiding them, we should be intentional in sharing them ๐Ÿ˜‰ And thatโ€™s what I decided to do ever since last year ^^. Sure it can be scary to be vulnerable. But people are not mind readers, if you donโ€™t tell them you are struggling, they cannot help you ๐Ÿ™ƒ so I made the leap and couldnโ€™t have moved out without my Youth Pastor and partners help! And now? As a church leader, Iโ€™m super intentional in sharing my struggles cause that builds a sense of trust, relability and authenticity. That Iโ€™m just like my group members, still learning and growing and looking for answers. Thereโ€™s nothing like authenticity and transparency that gets even the most introverted members to share their struggles as they realise theyโ€™re not alone in this.๐Ÿ˜‰ So be intentional in sharing your struggles, it builds relationships. Itโ€™s time to ditch the facade of perfection. ๐Ÿ˜Ž

101 Questions You need to ask in Your Twenties book launch!

View this post on Instagram

So in awe to be part of @paulangone book launch team for his new epic upcoming book – 101 Questions you need to ask in your 20โ€™s! So this is challenge #1 (the above) ๐Ÿ˜‰ Having just got out of the woods (of my last life season – more on that in my Faith in the woods podcast!), God has shown me if I had thrown in the towel to resign in my crappy job, I would have missed the valuable opportunity to train, empower and inspire the new young 20something junior female recruits! I never imagined in my wildest dreams that I would be in the privileged position to share my knowledge and pass on the torch of what I know and become a team leader before I hit my mid 20โ€™s! ๐Ÿ˜Ž Same story for my @cityonahillmelb church Gospel Community/bible group- if I gave up rooting myself in a church, would have never ended up as a GC co-leader and be at a place surrounded by inspiring young women to empower and nurture them. Thereโ€™s a reason after all why people say patience is a virtue! ๐Ÿ™ƒ๐Ÿ˜‰

Hey JJ readers!

Just swinging by to say hi & updating you what’s happening for JJ this year ๐Ÿ˜‰

โค Podcasts: I’ve decided and realised I should be more realistic rather than super ambitious – a podcast a month on JJ radio ๐Ÿ˜‰ Given it’s time consuming to write, record and edit ๐Ÿ˜‰ Who knows? Maybe one day there’ll be a JJ radio!

โค Book reviews: will come as I read those awesome books from What’s in JJ’s bookshelf!

โค Guest posts: would โค to collaborate with you awesome writers/bloggers!

Stayed tuned for the 1st JJ podcast of 2018! ๐Ÿ˜‰ Faith in the woods, inspired by my late night adventure in December =)

What’s in JJ’s iBook shelf?

Before the technology revolution took off 7 years ago, reading an actual book from a library or a bookstore was the norm. And being an avid reader/bookworm, there was nothing I liked more than escaping to my reading sanctuary.
